　身辺にあった綿布の切れ端に蠟を滴らし、絵具をこすりつけて、何気なく描いた小さな絵が始まりでした。色で染まった部分と無垢の生地の部分のコントラストや、流れで固まった蠟の痕跡の微妙さが面白いと感じました。偶々素材への愛着から始まった方法が定着していますが、蠟の流し方や色を決めるのは、頭脳よりも、身体の内部からの感覚に従いたいと考えてきました。

制作というものには、日頃の個人の考え方とか社会の問題などが自ずから影響するものではないでしょうか。

　いま私は少々進み過ぎた文明社会に危惧の念を抱く自然信仰者で、自然に即した生き方に憧れを持っています。

所詮、人間は天と地のシェイクから偶々生まれた宇宙的存在ではないでしょうか絶対的決定ではないかも知れないけれど、

いや、やはりあるのだという内的確信に縋って画面をみつめている画業は私に相応しい事と信じたいのです。

 

 

   By dropping wax on a piece of cloth around me and rubbing pigments on that cloth,

I began to produce a small painting without intention. That was my beginning.

I’m interested in the contrast between the pigment colored portion and the plain cloth areas plus the subtle trace

of hardened wax.

I have developed a method achieved by exploring the characteristics of the materials I use. 

I like to decide how to flow the wax and what color to use, not as an intellectual exercise but by intuition and emotion.

In producing my works I’m influenced by my daily thoughts and the social problems we face.

I have misgivings about too much change and rapid evolution in our civilization.

I long for a way of living according to the laws of nature. I am a naturalist. Are not human beings born from shaking

of heaven and earth as cosmic existence?

I think it is my proper role as an artist to scrutinize the canvas, having my assurance,  but not absolute, of something inexplicable.
