  ３０歳代から約２０数年、渓流釣りに凝り釣り竿を担ぎあの谷この川を巡りました。渓谷を渡渉して上流へと遡ることは自然への回帰であり、心と生命力の癒しでありました。

　初めの頃は、川の流れの景色を抽象画にしていましたが、フィンランドからカナダまでをぐるりと循環して地球の海底を流れる巨大深層海があることを知り、これをテーマとしました。

　大津波に襲われた２０１１年３月の東日本大震災の年、秋のグループ展には「環　波　流（タマキ・ハ・ル）」と題して、「イノチ」の枕言葉の「タマキハル」を使い悼む心を作品としました。

　よくメビウスの輪？と言われますがそれは違います。生き物の血流と同じ、地球の大半を占める大海の蒼い深層海流を、当分の間追求するつもりです。

 

 

   For about 20 years, since my thirties, I have been absorbed in fishing with a rod on my shoulder at the streams in the valleys. Advancing further into the upper reaches of the streams in the valleys is my traveling back to nature and it gives me healing and vital energies.

   At the beginning I abstracted the landscape of the stream current. When I made an ocean trip from Finland to Canada,

I realized that there is a deep current on the bottom of the ocean. And that current became the theme of my painting.

   A big tsunami hit Tohoku area in March, 2011. In the fall of that year at the group exhibition I showed my painting whose title is “Tamaki・ha・ru”(cycle, wave, current) which modifies the word Inochi (life) in the old Japanese poems and I mourned the dead.

   Some people ask me whether my painting is Mobius’ loop.  However, that is not correct. Like the blood flow in living things, there is the deep blue current in the oceans, which occupy largest part of the earth’s surface. That　current becomes my theme for the time being.
